The typical LaunchPad SBDC company has used early stage friends and family or angel funding to create its business and go-to-market plans before engaging with LaunchPad SBDC. The companies get the most value out of the LaunchPad SBDC process are those who have:

+ Developed a comprehensive business plan
+ Proven that its product or service works as conceived (i.e. have developed a proof of concept or an alpha version of the product or service and developed a minimum viable product plan);
+ Developed a marketing and commercialization plan (including the size of the relevant market);
+ Identified a team who can execute on the business plan; and
+ Created an investor presentation.
