In this three-part series, Garrett Brown and Colin Coggins, sales leaders and instructors of “Sales Mindset for Entrepreneurs” at USC’s Marshall School of Business, will cover a wide variety of topics designed to change the way you think about sales. If the thought of “selling” conjures images of fake smiles, slimy tactics, and deception, these events are for you. Garrett and Colin will show that it’s possible to sell while remaining authentic and mission-driven, and they’ll demonstrate that often, the best salespeople are those doing the opposite of what you believe a “typical” salesperson is supposed to do.
Session 1: Selling with Purpose – Friday, March 20
We’ll talk about why the best salespeople in the world are able to predictably thrive and feel genuinely happy doing it. We cover the importance of having something more than goals to motivate you, how to constantly look for the good (and find it), and seeing opportunity and abundance in places typical salespeople aren’t even looking.
Session 2: Selling with Authenticity – Friday, April 17
We discuss how to build authentic relationships that will give you the opportunity to solve problems by adding value instead of extracting it. We’ll explain how to sell authentically, whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert. We’ll also talk about how to “fall in love” as an intentional business practice.
Session 3: Selling with Creativity – Friday, May 8
In the final session, we’ll talk about the importance of knowledge, creativity, and communication. We’ll explain how the best salespeople in the world approach subjects like preparation, common sales tools, and storytelling.
